Marrying Art and Spiritual Practice with Michael Franti

Bringing together art and your spiritual life!

Michael Franti is a Charleston Jivamukti regular on his trips to the Holy City. What I love about him is — his incredible warmth, his sense of humor when he talks about his tiny adopted white (Finnish, I believe) mom, and his dedication to going barefooted. Not to mention his dedication to jivamukti yoga, veganism, and his music.

When Michael Franti played acoustic guitar at the yoga studio with one of his fellow Spearhead band members, the authenticity oozed out into the atmosphere — and he finished with an hour and a half yoga session with the group as a fund raiser for a fav charity. If you don’t know much about him and his music, find out what the Dalai Lama has to say in this video at the Dalai Lama’s recent 80th birthday bash. And don’t miss one of Franti’s latest music videos below.

Here’s Michael Franti serenading the Dalai Lama and a bigger audience.

And this one is a recent, upbeat Michael Franti video to inspire you to get up and move a little.
