Building Bridges to Connect Body, Mind and Spirit

Bridges connect two places. Imagine building a bridge to a higher level of consciousness.

In a recent move to the Isle of Palms (IOP) beautiful, white bridges arch up over the marshes and connect the island to the mainland.  The main one is called “the connector.”  This symbol resonates with me deeply. In dreams bridges have often appeared foretelling moments of transition and inner change. Sometimes the bridges were under construction; sometimes they already existed and I had to make the effort to go around obstacles and walk or drive to the other side. Bridges provide passages over obstacles that might otherwise be impassable — like the marsh or a river. They lead to new places. Recently one of the bridges from the IOP to the mainland was closed and locals couldn’t get on or off of the island. This is when the real significance of a bridge as a lifeline became apparent. Bridges represent moving from one place to another. This is a time of transition for many people and connecting with symbols is a way to find inner guidance. Symbols speak to the psyche. They resonate with a deep sense of what’s going on at a soul level. You may want to pay attention to the symbols that pop up for you over the next weeks. I love to draw them and write about them as a way to explore the images more in depth and develop a dialogue with the soul. If bridges speak to you, consider what bridges you’re crossing or what bridges you’re burning. Or maybe you’d like to invest in building some bridges this week.
